Toronto, Canada, March 14, 2013 – Jonas Software ("Jonas") announced today that is has completed the acquisition of all the business assets of Club Solutions from Fiserv, Inc. The acquisition of Club Solutions further expands Jonas' presence in the fitness, sports and leisure vertical.

"Club Solutions from Fiserv has established itself as a leader in providing fully integrated enterprise software and payment solutions in the fitness, sports and leisure industry," said Barry Symons, CEO of Jonas.  "Adding Club Solutions to our rapidly growing Fitness, Sports and Leisure Business Unit further strengthens our place in this important market and we are very excited to welcome the Club Solutions customers and employees to our organization."

The Club Solutions assets acquired in this transaction will become part of a new company called Jonas Fitness, Inc.  Adam Zeitsiff, who also serves as the Business Unit Manager for the Fitness, Sports and Leisure Division of Jonas Software in North America, will assume the role of President of Jonas Fitness, Inc. and will be responsible for executing all aspects of the company's future growth and expansion.

It typically takes 2 to 3 weeks to develop your GymBrand App and then another 1 to 2 weeks for Apple to review and approve it.  The time it takes depends on how quickly you review and provide feedback of course.

Will my App work on Androids?

Yes, your GymBrand App will include an App for Android devices and a html5 mobile website (there may be some features that will not work under html5) for other devices.

How much will it cost?

Custom Apps cost $900 ex GST to design and build and $90 ex GST per month ongoing to host, support and maintain your App. There are no fixed contract periods and no extra charges for Push Notifications. There may be additional charges to change the details in the App store but not to change content and most features.

It is a regrettable but understandable culture in the Australian fitness industry (certainly far more so than in the US based on my experience) that when it comes to capital expenditure, priority is usually given to floor equipment rather than information technology.  When a club or studio finds itself with some capital to invest, the temptation to pad out the cardio theatre with one more elliptical trainer versus improving your network or replacing that struggling, dusty, five year old PC is far too tempting....
